Anti - Semitism Awareness
Stop injustices towards the Jewish community!

Why We Care:

We know that today people are fighting for their minorities (ex: black LGTBQ+ etc..) and for a long time anti-semitisim has existed. We think that if more people are aware of the problem we can fight it and make the world a better place.

Anti - Semitism Throught the Ages

Biblical Times:During the centuries before Christ, the Hebrews (the early Jewish people) experienced intermittent persecution because they refused to adopt the religion of the ruler and worship the idols of the kingdoms of the Middle East, as was the custom at the time. In the year 70 C.E., the Romans destroyed the Jewish State, and most Jews were scattered throughout the ancient world. The refusal of Jews to accept Jesus as the Messiah was viewed as a threat to the Roman rulers and to Christianity.

The Middle Ages: Jews were forbidden to marry Christians (399 C.E.), were prohibited from holding positions in government (439 C.E.) and were prevented from appearing as witnesses against Christians in court (531 C.E.) It was alleged that Jews had horns and tails and engaged in ritual murder of Christians, especially children. This allegation, referred to as “blood libel,” was devised by Thomas of Monmouth in 1150 to explain the mysterious death of a Christian boy. During the middle of the 14th century, the Bubonic Plague spread throughout Europe, killing an estimated one-third of the population. The Jews were a convenient scapegoat because of the myths and stereotypes that were already believed about them. Martin Luther, the founder of the 16th century Reformation and Protestantism, wrote a pamphlet in 1545 entitled The Jews and Their Lies, claiming that Jews thirsted for Christian blood and urging the slaying of the Jews.

The Holocaust: "the systematic state-sponsored prosecution and mass murder of millions of European Jews (as well as millions of others, including Gypsies, the intellectually disabled, dissidents and homosexuals) by the German Nazi regime between 1933 and 1945."

Modern Day Anti-Semitism: On the Nick Cannon Podcast Cannon's Class, Cannon claimed that he wishes to debate the idea of giving so much power to the Jewish Community. He claimed that with so much power, "the Jewish community was turning into Illuminati, the Zionists, the Rothschilds." Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeSean Jackson posted a series of anti-Semitic Instagram posts that claimed to quote Hitler in saying that Black people were "the real Children of Israel," and that White Americans would be terrified to know that they have been "mistreating and discriminating and lynching" them.

Culture

The day-to-day life of a Jew is quite similar to any other, with just a few changes. The Normal day might look something like this: One would wake up in the morning and say one short prayer as a thanks to God for waking them up, followed by a trip to the bathroom where they would do their own morning routine with the addition of a ritual hand washing. Once they are done they get dresses and pray. From there its pretty normal. At the halfway through the day mark they would pray again, and once at evening. The other differences are prayers before and after meals to thank God.

Allies

With all the hate we also wanted to point out people who stand against Anti - Semitism.

One example would be Zach Banner a palyer for the NBA Pittsberg Steelers. When he saw DeSean Jackson post a comment on twitter he decided to start fighting back. He had similar thinking as us; he spoke about how Black Lives Matter aducated America and now Jews should have the same right.
